The Millionaire Fastlane starts off with MJ DeMarco’s story of how he became a millionaire by age 27, when many people are still struggling in their careers and looking for their first job out of college. He also tells his readers about some other millionaires he has met along the way and describes the commonalities between all the self made millionaires, including himself.
This book is all about how to make money in a time when most people are struggling with debt and trying to get out of the rat race that many salaries can’t even afford you, let alone provide any savings for the future.
The best part about the book was his emphasis of how time is the most precious resources of all. It is useless to have a ton of money if you can’t enjoy it and that means having free time for the things we really want. At the same time, it is also meaningless to live frugally for 30 years of prime time of your life, just so that you may have a comfortable retirement.
MJ DeMarco carefully unfolds the differences between making money quickly versus making money easily. While there is no such thing as making money easy, there is definitely a way of getting there quickly.
For me, the biggest highlight of the book was that there is no point in chasing money. You should be looking at solving problems at scale. Once the problem is solved, money will come along with it.
It’s a book about how he made his first million dollars and then went on to make his next ten million in a much shorter period of time. It also includes some anecdotes from successful entrepreneurs that MJ has talked to over the years through interviews or speeches at events around the world.
I have read quite a few books on money and entrepreneurship, but I have never felt about any other book, the same way. The Millionaire Fastlane is to my opinion, the best book on entrepreneurship and money that I have ever read. It’s a must-read for any entrepreneur looking to make it big!
